Repair Process

Repair/Restoration Assessment and Free Estimate

If your classic car has been in a collision, or your vehicle has damage you will first need to bring in your vehicle.  We know many people like to email us or text pictures and request estimates but this is not the best way, because we might quote too high or too low.  Your classic car needs to be seen by our technician in person, in order to evaluate the work and labor needed to breath new life to your classic.  Once we accurately assess the damage we can give you a realistic estimate.

Classic Car Body Repair

After we assess the entire damage on your vehicle, we begin the auto body repair process. In this stage, we remove all your car’s parts which require repair or replacement. We will also work on repairing your auto’s body and structure.  On a classic car this step is very important because it requires a lot of time and skill to get the body curves and lines straight.

Classic Car Painting and Polish

Once we complete the body work, your vehicle will start the paint and polish process. Before we apply paint we find your car’s exact color match utilizing computer technology or apply the unique color you have picked.  Decals and racing stripes are added after the entire car is painted.  Your vehicle is then polished and prepared for reassembly.

Vehicle Reassembly

Your vehicle is then reassembled with exterior parts like grills, lights, doors, and other parts involved in your repair or restoration.   Usually these exterior parts are new, or chrome dipped. Once assembled, your classic car enters a final quality control check.

Clean Car and Detail

Before you can pick up your classic car we complete a wash final detail. This step gives us a last chance to find any errors and repair them.

Final Vehicle Inspection and Ready for Pick Up

Lastly, once your repair or restoration is complete, we will contact you.  When you come to our shop you can give your classic car a final inspection and finish any paperwork.

“Currently restoring a 72 GTO which needed some preliminary metal repair. Other shops did not want to touch it unless they did the complete car. Jaider helped me out with this and began the much needed repairs caused by years of rust damage. He was always up front with what needed to be done and was very fair with pricing. He kept me updated throughout the process and made sure the car would be repaired to a safe condition. Very pleased with the experience and passion his staff has with classic cars. If you need work done to your classic car, this is the place to bring it.”

Are you looking for one of the best classic car collision or restorations shops in the Van Nuys and Los Angeles area?

Look no further, West Coast Body and Paint in Van Nuys, is a top-rated classic car collision shop in Van Nuys, serving the San Fernando and the Los Angeles area since 2007.  Restorations usually start at 17K and have about a 2 year waitlist. **CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE**  We are family and locally owned.  So come by, call for an appointment, email or text us for a free estimate 818.793.7728.

Ourestimates are always free and you are welcome to come by our shop anytime or make an appointment.  We know that many clients like the convenience of sending pictures of their car and request an estimate; but, in reality an estimate by this means is not really reliable.  Why?  Because the estimate will either be too high or too low.  In order to assess the damage and give an estimate, a car needs to be seen by a professional and in person.  This insures that the estimate is as accurate as possible, not too high or too low.  For more information click here.

If you are not able to come by our shop during normal working hours, you can give us a call or send us an email, and make an appointment when you can come, in most cases we are able to accommodate our clients.
