What is Quality Paint Prep?
Paint prep is short for paint preparation. It is the process between the body repair and paint application. Your car will have been completely repaired by the body technician and is ready for paint. But before the first coat of sealer or primer, your car will need to be properly prepared.
Why do cars need professional paint prep?
Masking is a very important step in the paint process because it helps prevent unwanted paint from getting on the body of your car. This step might seem simple enough but if not done carefully it can cause overspray or other issues.

Paint prep might seem like a very simple step, but in reality it is very important and time consuming.  Quantity shops don’t do it, or don’t take their time during this step, to cut corners and save on labor, but in the long run you end up paying the price. At our auto body shop, West Coast Body and Paint, we make sure we do the paint prep right, take our time, and use quality materials, because it is important we leave your car looking its best.
