In order for a mobile service to give you a quote that is as accurate as possible just off pictures, you need to submit good images.  What makes a good picture for the most accurate mobile services estimate?  Follow these three simple tips.

Tips for the Best Pictures to Submit for a Mobile Body Shop Estimate

Tip 1.  When you take the pictures you want to submit for an estimate, it is best to take your car’s pictures during the day or in a well lit area.  If you want you can point to the problem areas for easier identification.

 

Tip 2.  Make sure the pictures are clear and detailed.  It’s time to put your camera phone to the test and see if it was worth the good money you paid.  It is always a good idea to clean the lens also this ensures the pictures will be crisp and clear.

 

Tip 3.  Take and submit at least three images of the damaged area.

1) Close-Up,

2) Close-Up at an Angle, and

3) at a Distance.

 

After we review your pictures, we will give you an initial estimate.  This initial quote may be a bit high or low, but it should be near the final expense.  Only after an in-person, detailed, damage analysis can we provide you with a final and accurate estimate.

Before the estimate can be reviewed with you, your expert body and paint technician will look and feel for all the damage on your vehicle.  To fully estimate the actual damage, viewing your car in person and feeling the car’s body will indicate if the damage is minor and can be repaired on the spot or if it will require you to take your car to a body shop.  After the inspection the technician will be open and honest about the cost and repairs.

Best Methods for Repair

When analyzing damage to determine appropriate methods for overall repairs, your expert tech will evaluate with you the cost of repairing the affected areas versus the cost of replacing it, if necessary.

Your vehicle will be repaired in the most cost-effective manner that will not compromise integrity, safety, and longevity.  Non-structural parts, like fenders, doors, hoods, deck lids, quarter panels, and bumpers, will be carefully evaluated to determine if repair or replacement is required.  If the repair cost exceeds the replacement cost, then the part will be replaced. We check all doors, hoods, and deck lids for proper operation.

Paint Finish

Your vehicle’s finish may be single stage (color only), base coat/clear coat, or tri-coat (base color, pearl coat, and clear coat).  The paint code is located in your vehicle, and a computer software is used to determine if your car has a clear coat or a tri-coat.  The condition of the paint finish is evaluated, we look for dull or peeling paint, overspray from a previous refinish and rust.

If you are in agreement with the methods for repair, the paint finish, and final quote, we will begin repairing your vehicle.
