The Luxury Car Restoration Process
The Consultation
At the consultation we will talk about your vision and how we will make it happen. We will assess your car to see if their is any body damage that needs repair, such as rust, and other body repair. Let us know if you want to make any modifications, what colors, stripes, and finishes you want. The end result of the consultation will be an initial estimate.
The initial estimate is a preliminary estimate. It can be your only estimate as long as no additional damages are discovered during the restoration process, and you do not add, change or modify to the work of your original vision. Last minute changes are common in these types of projects and they do include additional costs.
The Body Work
The body work will be done by our bodyman technician. He will repair any collision damage, remove rust, straighten panels, etc. As with every stage of the process we ask that you be patient because attention to detail is very important in each step. Sometimes we have to order parts that are hard to find, or no longer are in production and we need to take our time to solve the issue or fabricate them ourselves.
Ultimately our goal is that all the panels fit and the lines of your car are seamless. This prepares your car for a great paint job.
The Paint Job
We always recommend our client get a professional body repair job. Clients who want to save money by doing the body work themselves or take their car to a cheap shop in hopes that the paint job will cover all the mistakes. This is a myth. Paint does not fix crooked lines, or uneven panels, huge gaps, and parts not installed correctly. Bondo can only fix so much and it can’t repair body work. In other words, a professional body repair is key for a good paint job.
A luxury car’s paint job starts with bondo and plenty of sanding. We go to great lengths to take our time, use the right materials, and do things right the first time. The extra steps we take will give you the best outcome and save you money in the long run. And if you sell your car down the line, it might make you money.
Our paint technician makes sure all the lines are straight, there’s no gaps, all the panels and parts are in their proper place. With that out of the way, the paint technician will apply primers, sealers, base coats, color coats, and top coats. These are often done several times each and sanding happens in between each coat. Once painting is complete you car will get a expert detail and is ready for you to cruise.

The BAD NEWS is we have moved out of our location and are in search of a new home for the West Coast Body and Paint shop.
The GOOD NEWS is that we have a West Coast Body and Paint mobile paint repair service unit that will come to you! The mobile paint unit provides auto services for minor body and paint repairs.
Our estimates are free. Once we receive your images we will provide you with an initial estimate. The estimate is a ballpark figure, and after we assess your vehicle’s damage in person, we will review the estimate with you. If you agree to the estimate, we will begin repairing your car.
