Accident Repair

Expert Car Accident Repair

Whether it is a minor fender bender or a major car crash, the steps to getting your car back to its pre-accident state and like new condition are all the same.  Below is an outline of the professional auto collision repair process.  For more information click on any of the links.

Free COLLISION Repair Estimate

Our accident repair estimates are always free and you are welcome to come by our shop anytime or make an appointment.  We know that many clients like the convenience of sending pictures of their car’s right after an accident and request an estimate; but, in reality an accident repair estimate by this means is not really reliable.  Why?  Because the estimate will either be too high or too low.  In order to assess the damage and give an estimate, a car needs to be seen by a professional and in person.  This insures that the estimate is as accurate as possible, not too high or too low, that after the job is completed you won’t get an unpleasant repair bill.  For more information click here.

If you are not able to come by our shop during normal working hours, you can give us a call or send us an email, and make an appointment when you can come, in most cases we are able to accommodate our clients.

Investigate and Assess The Accident Damage

In order for us to properly assess the damage to your car and commence accident repair, we need to know your auto accident big picture.  We need to know the following:

  • How was your car hit? The size, shape, position, and speed of the vehicles involved in the collision.
  • From what direction?  Angle and direction of the vehicle at the time of the impact.
  • How great was the force of the impact?  Speed of the vehicle at the time of collision.
  • The number of passengers and their position at the time of impact.

Assessing the types and extent of damage is easier if you give us an idea of how the accident occurred.

Quality Damage Repair

Once we have assessed the damage of your car, we are able to begin accident repair.  The damaged area will either get removed, repaired, and/or replaced.

  1. Remove damage(s) and/or
  2. Repair damage(s) and/or
  3. Replace damage(s)

Excellent Metal Work

Once our experienced technicians know what to do with the damaged components, those that are not replaced will get repaired.  This process is called the body work or metal work stage.  This is the step where we skilfully repair your car’s metal, reshape it and do whatever it needs so it will look like new.

Metal work include:

Paint Preparation

Sanding and masking step begins after the body is completely straight and structurally sound.  This is a tedious step, but a very important one for your car.  Doing all the following steps on your car ensures that the body of your car is straight, smooth, and top-quality.

  1. Removal of old paint
  2. Apply body filler (bondo)
  3. Sanding
  4. Cleaning
  5. Masking

Primer and Primer Sealer

To help protect any exposed bare metal from oxidizing when it is in contact with oxygen in the air, primer is applied because it is designed to fill very small surface irregularities. The function of a primer undercoat is to provide maximum adhesion to the bare metal and provides a uniform base to paint over.

Premium Color

We apply a premium color to your car so that is looks seamlessly the same all throughout after your car is primed and (primer) sealed.  Your family and friends will not know where we painted your car.  Your car will look like nothing ever happened.

Clear Coat

After the color is applied, it’s time for the topcoat, or clear coat.  This is the last of the paint application steps.  After this the car is pretty much done, but we don’t stop here.

Polish

This is the last step – the polish.  This is what we do in order for a seamless and polished look.  We are proud of our work and take that extra step so your car will look like new.  We guarantee our work.

“After a car accident I took my car to West Coast. Jaider was so helpful through the whole process and the work was impeccable. He was always communicative throughout the process and did all the negotiating with the insurance company so I didn’t have to deal with it. His hours are great which allows for flexibility. He also said if anything happens to my bumper to bring it back to him. I would definitely recommend!”

As of January 2022 we have some good news and some bad news…

The BAD NEWS is we have moved out of our location and are in search of a new home for the West Coast Body and Paint shop.

The GOOD NEWS is that we have a West Coast Body and Paint mobile paint repair service unit that will come to you!  The auto body and paint mobile paint unit provides auto services for minor paint repairs.
