On a daily basis we receive numerous emails, phone calls, texts, messages through facebook, google, instagram, and yelp. The majority of the inquiries are regarding estimates. We always recommend that the potential client bring in their car to our body shop so that we may asses the damage correctly.
A professional auto body shop will rarely provide an accurate quote over the phone, email, text, etc., without seeing the vehicle in person. What usually happens is the estimate (more often than not) will be either too low or too high.
Why Do We Recommended You Get An Estimate In Person At The Auto Body Shop?
Because it is difficult to tell the condition of a car without actually seeing it in person. A professional will need to see and feel the outside as well as inside of the car. Many auto body shops who do give out quotes will quote a potential client low to obtain their business, but once they have the vehicle in their shop and work has begun, they return to the client with a “revised bill” -of course higher than the original estimate. Or when the work is done, the client will receive sticker shock from the additional expenses.
In order for a professional auto body and repair shop to be able to give a potential client an accurate estimate, it is advised the person bring in the car to the auto body shop, so it may be assessed correctly and the client won’t get a surprise in the end when they receive the final bill.

We examine for several things, here are just a few things to give you an idea:
- Extent of external damage
- Extent of internal damage
- Paint condition (rust, chip, fade, etc)
- Mechanical repair required
- Parts which need to be repaired or replaced
